The Antenna and Electronics Systems Business Unit at ERA Technology Ltd is one of Europe's leading centres for the design, development and supply of antennas and RF sub-systems. It has experience in most types of antennas and application areas, including fixed satellite communications, military systems and mobile satcoms. ERA's heritage includes such diverse areas as spaceborne antennas, including shaped reflectors, array fed reflectors and arrays, ground terminal antennas ranging from 32m reflectors to small low gain quadrifilar helices and antennas for airborne and missile applications. ERA also has an extensive theoretical capability that encompasses waveguide component simulations, horn and radome design and analysis, reflector synthesis and analysis, and system design. ERA has also developed an extensive suite of software for the synthesis and analysis of linear, planar and cylindrical arrays, including slotted waveguide antennas and the outputs have been carefully validated by comparison with experimental results.

ERA has been involved in many contracts with the European Space Agency, British National Space Centre, UK MoD, INTELSAT, INMARSAT, EUTELSAT and system integrator companies worldwide. These contracts have involved feasibility studies, development of breadboard antennas for both space and ground segments and the supply of space qualified and military hardware and operational earth station antennas.
