Safety Engineering

ERA's Safety Engineering services range from the support of all aspects of systems safety engineering including the three ISA (Independent Safety Audit, Assessment and Advice) activities to the provision of expert witnesses in litigation. The group is a Network Rail Accredited ISA.

The group produces safety cases, safety arguments and safety management plans as well as undertaking gap analyses, risk assessment, studies of safety culture and cost benefit analyses. It undertakes this work throughout the whole product lifecycle and, where appropriate, the supply chain.

The group also provides expertise in the related areas of reliability prediction assessment, RAMS, software safety engineering, training and can provide advice and guidance on the application of specific standards.

These services are provided across a diverse range of sectors including Transport, Defence Aerospace and Civil Aerospace. The group, in conjunction with AccessERA, also provides a number of training courses.

The rail and automotive industries are faced with complex engineering challenges that have to be met in order to improve customer safety and service efficiency, whilst managing cost and maintaining their reputation in their markets.

  ERA is an acknowledged safety adviser to the MoD and is registered under the MoD System Safety and Environmental Support enabling contract arrangements.

The Safety Engineering Group is an acknowledged provider of safety assurance and assessment of safety critical and high integrity computer based systems.   The Safety Engineering Group provides, through AccessERA a number of training programmes that can be provided either at ERA or in house.
