New Guide and course on RoHS compliance
To assist all parties grappling with how to comply with RoHS, ERA has launched a new course and guidance report. The first course in February was sold out but it is being held again on the 14 April.

 
 
   

EC publishes ERA report on RoHS exemptions
Further to ERA's study of 11 exemption proposals for RoHS, the European Commission has published ERA's findings. ERA's report provided the technical basis for the vote by the Technical Adaptation Committee to amend and add to the list of exemptions allowable under the Directive.

   

Where to meet or hear us in 2005
ERA is presenting on RoHS compliance at a number of events this year. Dr Paul Goodman is taking part in an online seminar on 23 March. Dr Chris Robertson is presenting a paper at the IPC conference in San Jose, California on 19-20 April.

Small fires in electronics

Update on RoHS compliance
With the deadline a little over a year away, the route to compliance for producers is gradually becoming clearer. ERA’s Reliability and Failure Analysis group is helping industry, government and all parts of the supply chain to develop a workable approach.

NEW Course - Achieving compliance with the RoHS Directive and minimising the business risk
Date: 9 February 2005 - venue Leatherhead
Description: RoHS enters force in July 2006. What should producers and those in the supply chain do to comply? ERA has been closely in involved in developing of practical approaches to compliance with EU Member States, the European Commission and industry. This new course aims to answer this question and to show how the risk of non-compliance can be reduced.
