On 1 January 2008, Dr Vincent Mifsud was appointed Managing Director of ERA Technology Ltd, a part of the Cobham Avionics & Surveillance Division (CAS). Vincent has a PhD from Cambridge University and more than 25 years experience in the aerospace and defence industry at start-up, operating unit, Divisional and Group level. Vincent joined Cobham plc two years ago and together with his new role at ERA, he is also appointed VP Technology for CAS, whilst retaining his responsibility for coordinating technology initiatives across all four Cobham Divisions.

Vincent's appointment, along with a new role for Fred Cahill (ERA's previous Managing Director) is part of the recently announced strategic reorganisation within Cobham plc. Fred is now VP Antennas and General Manager of Chelton Ltd within the Cobham Defence Electronic Systems Division (CDES).
