Since 1979, the ASSC has provided a unique MoD and Industry forum to implement appropriate avionics systems standardisation strategy through dedicated technical investigations, a network of industry workshops and dedicated information resources. ERA has been awarded the contract for managing the ASSC for a further three years. This award reflects the continued commitment ERA has shown the ASSC, the wealth of expertise the organisation can contribute and the value of the ASSC to the MoD and UK defence industry. The ASSC now represents one of the most well-respected resources of avionics expertise in the UK. Its current membership includes: Over 25 of the UK’s leading suppliers of avionics technology. Key MoD agencies including the Defence Equipment and Support (DE&S) and Defence Science and Technology Laboratory (DSTL). The majority of MoD air platform Integrated Project Teams (IPTs) Research establishments including leading universities (such as London University and York University). A range of standards bodies from the Society of Automotive Engineers (SAE) to NATO’s Avionics System Panel.
