With the launch of Thermo Scientific’s new K-Alpha X-ray Photoelectron Spectroscopy (XPS) instrument, ERA can now reveal its role in the development of this leading-edge project.
		XPS technology is used to determine the surface chemical composition of solid materials. ERA used its expertise in analogue and digital signal processing to produce state-of-the-art data acquisition hardware. The new data capture card enables the XPS system to capture and process data at considerably higher speeds than the previous technology, at a competitive cost.
Nigel Hunt, ERA’s project technical leader, commented: "We have worked hard with the Thermo K-Alpha team to create this high performance technology that will help maintain Thermo's leading position in the XPS market.
