Designing and Recycling Electrical and Electronic Equipment 2006:The realities of RoHS, EuP, WEEE and REACH

ERA Technology is pleased to announce that its flagship conference, Designing and Recycling Electrical and Electronic Equipment, will be held at the Hilton London Gatwick on the 28-29 November 2006. The conference, now in its ninth successive year, brings together expert speakers and product manufacturers from around the globe.

t ERA’s Designing and Recycling Electrical and Electronic Equipment Conference provides a forum for discussion of key recycling issues, including RoHS, WEEE, EuP and REACH.

On 1 July 2006, the RoHS Directive became a reality. This year’s conference will examine the practical implementation, legal perspectives and possible future developments of this legislation, for example the probability of the inclusion of categories 8 and 9 equipment.

As the implementation and adoption dates for WEEE, EuP and REACH get ever closer, the conference will also address the impending challenge of this new legislation and its effects on the design and manufacture of electrical and electronic equipment.

Environmental legislation perspectives from China, the USA and Japan will be presented and delegates will have the opportunity to discuss their own concerns with the experts.

Malcolm Bruce of Northrop Grumman Sperry Marine, said of the 2005 conference “An excellent range of presenters plus useful information which will help us formulate our strategy.”

The full conference programme includes contributions from, DTi, National Weights and Measures Laboratory, ERA Technology, Allen & Overy LLP, White & Case, Avaya, Dell, E2open, COCIR, Honeywell EMEA, B2B Compliance, SIMS Group, Horiba, Holly Evans (a US lawyer) and CMA Industrial Development Foundation.
