The Power Generation Company of Trinidad & Tobago (PowerGen) has chosen ERA to provide key consultancy services to improve the protection systems in their power station at Port of Spain in Trinidad. The integration of the protection systems to the transmission network, owned by The Trinidad & Tobago Electricity Commission, is a key element in the implementation of a new transmission development plan.

ERA will be undertaking a thorough review of the protection system, specifying the required protection devices, 15kV circuit breakers and the 3.3kV interlocking schemes, and undertaking protection studies and recommending changes where appropriate for the power systems currently in place.The final stages will see ERA involved in the commissioning and testing of all the schemes proposed.
ERA's wide and varied expertise and the ERACS power system analysis software, developed by ERA, will be instrumental in fulfilling the requirements set out in this complex and unique project.
