ERA has entered into a consortium agreement with partners including Airbus, Thales Avionics, DLR and Dassault. The programme is focused on research, evaluation and cost-benefit analysis to define new integrated navigation technologies which, in combination with avionics, satcom and communication systems, will deliver the future environment required for advanced Air Traffic Management (ATM). Outputs from the programme will be validated by theoretical analysis, practical evaluation of technology demonstrators and selected flight trials.

ANASTASIA complements the ERA-led SPITFIRE programme, which involves a number of Cobham companies and is focused on Ku-band broadband satellite communications to civil aircraft. SPITFIRE is also developing innovative technology, including a ground-breaking cost-effective low-profile satellite communications antenna.
