| Dr Henry (Harry) Taylor, a past Director
of ERA Technology in Leatherhead, celebrates his 100th birthday on 4 November
2004. Dr Taylor, now living close to Chepstow, was born in 1904 and over his lifetime
has experienced two world wars and seen technology develop from the introduction
of motor vehicles to aircraft and space flight. During his career, Dr
Taylor has always stayed close to innovation and research, from his work with
ERA Technology (formerly The Electrical Research Association), The Copper Development
Association and The Welding Institute (formerly The British Welding Research Association).

Taylor was originally employed by ERA from 1929 to 1938 and later returned as
Director from 1957 until his retirement in 1969. ERA Technology, now a Chelton
Group company, was itself established 84 years ago and today maintains its leading
role in advanced development and innovation. | | Fred
