Electronic systems provides a comprehensive consultancy design and development service to provide solutions to customer requirements.
This service ranges from research on novel electromagnetic sensor techniques, analysis of system performance, design, development, production engineering and trials.
Electronic Systems has developed leading edge hand-held and vehicle mounted mine detection systems, for both civilian and military applications and offers world class expertise in this field. ERA’s ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology provides a leading edge capability for these systems. This technology has been integrated into Minehound, a dual sensor handheld detector.
Electronic Systems has considerable expertise in the system design and engineering of vehicle based landmine detection systems. Electronic Systems are able to supply custom designed GPR arrays for integration into complete systems and provide expertise for the design and development of integrated sensor systems for vehicle based multi-sensor systems.
Other applications of GPR technology include the Ferret, which is an example of a compact lightweight single sensor GPR system suitable for rapid search and detect operations for concealed targets.
Electronic Systems offers hardware design expertise in nuclear quadrupole resonance (NQR) sensors, which can detect and identify various types of explosive material. We have designed and supplied complete systems for both hand-held detectors as well as the large NQR systems for vehicle inspection.
We have expertise in image processing applied to infra-red and visual data for sensors for targets such as trip wires, surface laid mines and IED’s. Other techniques which have been exploited for specific customer requirements include active and passive millimetre wave detection of concealed objects as well as 3-D magnetometry and acoustic sensing techniques.
To meet customer needs, Electronic Systems offers a full range of engineering capabilities ranging from consultancy, feasibility studies through to engineering development and trials of systems ready for production.
