mine detection systems, for both civilian and military applications.
ERA's proven ground penetrating radar (GPR) technology forms
the basis for these systems, but improved performance and
functionality can be achieved by integrating it with other
types of sensor.

Mine infestation limits economic growth in many countries where conflicts have occurred, causing poverty as well as injury and death. Hand-held mine detectors are particularly useful, as they can be employed in areas where access is difficult, and can detect small anti-personnel mines as well as larger anti-vehicle mines.
ERA's MINETECT hand-held system combines metal detection and ground penetrating radar technologies into a single low cost hand-held detector, providing a powerful tool for speeding up mine clearance operations. |
Vehicle mounted mine detection systems, such as MINDER, are
designed for rapidly detecting of mines specifically targeted
at vehicles. Data fusion is used to combine the outputs from
ultra-wide band and ground-penetrating radar, thermal imaging
and metal detection. This achieves high detection and low
false alarm rates for a wide range of metallic and non-metallic
mines. These systems can be used to mark out safe routes for
both military and humanitarian aid traffic.
