End of life & WEEE-like compliance worldwide
From the “Marketing and Use” Directive, through EU and China RoHS to similar requirements developing worldwide, ERA can steer you through the regulatory minefield.
Scope, registration, labelling, responsibility… ERA can help determine what your obligations are and how to respond.
REACH compliance and chemicals

EcoDesign (EuP) Directive compliance
REACH applies not only to chemical manufacturers and importers, it also has major implications for the electrical products sector. ERA provides expert advice on what these implications are and how to respond.
The Energy using Products Directive requires ecodesign to become integral to business practice. EuP has far wider long term implications than either WEEE or RoHS for the electrical products sector. ERA provides expert advice on what these implications are and how to respond.
Environmental review of chemical processes

Manufacturers need to comply with legislation that restricts the use of hazardous materials and controls production processes that use chemicals. ERA carries out independent process audits versus legal and technical requirements.

Regulation: The electrical products sector and its supply chain has been subject to innumerable regulatory changes affecting all parts of the life cycle. These requirements are continuing to be introduced in different forms throughout the world.

Market: In parallel, customer pressure to move to “greener” solutions and supply chain phasing out of restricted and undesirable substances has meant that even those who are formally out of scope of legal restrictions are still affected.

Solution: ERA has been an established provider of compliance services to the product sector for decades including the EMC and LVD Directives. ERA’s RFA group specialises in providing technical services to the products sector including chemical analysis, information on and interpretation of global environmental product regulation and associated standards, guidance, etc. ERA supports companies worldwide and has assisted UK government and European Commission on implementation issues and can steer you through the regulatory minefield.

Electrical equipment may also needs to comply with EMC, ATEX, ELV, safety and Batteries directives. ERA advises on all of these.
