Low Voltage Electrical Product Testing
Latest News

ERA has now completed the RCD reliability study for The Electrical Safety Council. We tested 607 RCDs in properties owned by four Housing Associations and Local Housing Authorities.

The failure rate was 3.8% including six RCDs which had been deliberately shorted out, a dangerous practise. Excluding the shorted RCDs the failure rate was 2.8%, i.e. a pass rate of 97.2%. None of the occupiers ever tested the RCDs by pressing the test button.
