ERA has the capability and experience to plan and run power
and refinery plant condition assessments and fitness for service
assessments including on-line condition monitoring, definition
of assessment programmes, contract and supervision of assessment
teams, supervision of repairs, and evaluation of inspection
and test data.

In addition, ERA has particularly strong technical capabilities in non-destructive examinations, gas turbines, high temperature plant, defect assessments, high voltage partial discharge measurements (including on-line monitoring and cable mapping), electrical engineering, mechanical plant engineering and corrosion.
The assessments result in a conservative remaining life or a probability of failure for the plant in question which can then be used in a plant risk analysis by clients. |
Services are backed up by a finite element modelling and defect assessment capabilities at ERA, and research programmes which develop our technical capability on an ongoing basis.
Clients are typically independent power producers, refinery and petrochemical operators, electrical utilities and transmission companies. On-site investigations often involve international travel to all parts of the world, where appropriate using local contractors to undertake the work as part of the contract.
