Lightning protection testing of surge protection devices (SPD)
The most recent service added to the ERA Protection Testing portfolio is Lightning Protection Testing. This covers SPD's incorporated into electrical wiring accessories. These can now be tested at ERA's electrical testing laboratory. The pulse shapes available are 8/20ms short-circuit at up to 4kA and 1.2/50ms open-circuit 200V to 8.0kV.

Electrical safety testing
ERA also safety tests for manufacturers and organisations such as Trading Standards departments. This is to ensure quality and safety of products after initial product testing and certification. It is important that electrical products conform to their relevant standards as counterfeit products sold in this country have already caused fatalities.
